Sullen, frustrated, depressed. That is how Notre Dame fans looked with each passing play in tonight’s Discover BCS National Championship game.

The Irish in Chicago flocked to Racine Plumbing, a bar in Lincoln Park to root on the #1 ranked team from South Bend, Indiana.

Instead, the room felt more like a funeral as Alabama dominated from the start. Feeling the pressure, Notre Dame fans shut down during the game.

Meanwhile, across town at Houndstooth Bar in Lakeview, Crimson Tide converts and transplants cheered with each touchdown. Alabama owned the offense throughout the game and fans screamed with delight.

Pom Pons in hand and decked in red and white, Alabamans living in Chicago were proud of their southern roots and a win no one could deny them.
