Former Chicago Bear Steve McMichael moves forward with Mayoral ambitions

Former Chicago Bear Steve McMichael has taken the next step in his quest for political office.

The former defensive lineman has filed his petitions to enter the race for Mayor of Southwest suburban Romeoville.

The Chicago Sun-times reports, McMichael sent in his paperwork to get on the Mayoral ballot yesterday. McMichael has said the customers at his sports bar, Mongo McMichael’s Restaurant and Sports Bar, talked him into running, so he could address village issues.

McMichael will face current Romeoville Mayor John Noak.

McMichael has lived in Romeoville since April. This will be his first time running for office.

The election takes place in April 2013.
