Illinois lawmakers scale back January schedule

The lame duck session for Illinois lawmakers just got a whole lot shorter — state senators will only meet from January 2-4.

They cancelled sessions scheduled for January 5-7.

The state house cancelled a January 3 session, and won’t meet until the January 6.

There are several hot-button issues legislators could consider during the lame duck session including drivers licenses for illegal immigrants and same sex marriage.
