Teachers in West Chicago School District 33 appear set to strike over a dispute about health insurance.

The Daily Herald reports the teachers’ union filed the necessary paperwork on Friday, just a few hours before students left for winter break.

When classes resume on January 7th, teachers may not show up.

The school district recently capped the amount it would pay toward teachers’ health insurance premiums — a move the union vigorously objected.
