Congresswoman-elect Tammy Duckworth has been allowed to bypass the traditional lottery for office space.

The lottery gives newly-elected representatives the chance to have the best office space while in Washington, D.C.

But House Speaker John Boehner gave Duckworth permission to skip the lottery and move into the first-floor office in the Cannon House Office Building and update it to make it more handicap-accessible.

Duckworth is a double amputee from the Iraq war.
