An autopsy by the Cook County medical examiner’s office found that a woman who was found dead in a house fire was actually strangled.

Erica Rodriguez’s home in Oak Forest caught fire Tuesday morning.

Firefighters found her dead inside.

Her husband, Martin, was severely burned and his throat was slashed.

He’s hospitalized in critical condition, and investigators have not been able to talk to him yet.
