A 47-year-old Tinley Park man has been charged with first degree murder in the death of his wife, who was found dead in a residential subdivision.
Bahaa A. Sam was taken into custody Wednesday morning after police arrived at his home in the 19700 block of South Silverside Drive around 11:30 a.m. in response to an ambulance call, Tinley Park police said this morning in a press release.
Sam’s wife, Nermeen G. Sam, 38, lay dead in the front yard when police arrived “with trauma on her body,” the release states.
Will County court records indicate Bahaa Sam was charged with domestic battery in 2005 and again in June. The court in June also issued an emergency protective order against Sam on behalf of his wife and four minors.
Bahaa Sam was set to appear in Will County court this morning. The Will County Coroner’s office was to conduct an autopsy this morning, and had not yet released results.
