Chicago Alderman Sandi Jackson may not be running for her husband’s 2nd congressional seat, but she will help pick a replacement.

Jackson’s Chief-of-Staff told the Sun-Times that she’s attending a slating meeting Saturday.

The meeting is where candidates for Jesse Jackson Junior’s former seat, vie to become the chosen candidate of the Cook County Democratic Party.

Attending the meeting is one of Alderman Jackson’s duties as a 7th Ward Committeeman.

Her staff also says she will be at Wednesday City Council Meeting, after calling in sick to the last one.
