A man convicted of killing a young girl 55-years ago was sentenced to life in prison Monday in DeKalb County court.

73-year-old Jack McCullough was found guilty last September of the murder of 7-year-old Maria Ridulph.

She was abducted in from a street corner in the town of Sycamore back in 1957.

Her body was found months later, near Galena.

The murder remained unsolved until last year, when a relative of McCullough convinced police to reopen the investigation.
