Two young men broke into a fashionable near North Side shoe store overnight and helped themselves to as many expensive purses as they could carry.

Police say the men forced their way into the Jimmy Choo store at 63 E. Oak St. just before 2 a.m.

It appears the burglars used a sledgehammer to break the glass.

Store officials are still tallying up the missing merchandise; a typical Jimmy Choo purse sells for more than $1,000.

The burglars haven’t been caught.
