A man has been officially charged in the death of a woman who was killed in gruesome incident on the Bishop Ford.

Michael Johnson has been charged with aggravated driving under the influence involving death, aggravated fleeing and eluding, and leaving the scene of a fatal accident.

Jennifer Mitchell, 27, was struck by two vehicles on Tuesday when she fell from an SUV on I-94  at 154th St in Dolton.

A man has been officially charged in the death of a woman who was killed in gruesome incident on the Bishop Ford earlier this week.

Michael Johnson, 28, of Edwardsville has been charged with aggravated driving under the influence involving death, aggravated fleeing and eluding, and leaving the scene of a fatal accident.

Jennifer Mitchell, 27, was struck by two vehicles on Tuesday when she fell from an SUV on I-94  at 154th St in Dolton.

According to a statement from police, it is unclear if Mitchell was pushed or if she jumped, but Johnson was driving the SUV when it crashed at an exit ramp near 127th St.  Johnson attempted to elude police was later caught by troopers.

Johnson has a criminal history which includes arrests for assault and convictions for domestic battery.

He is scheduled to appear in bond court Friday.

State police have identified a woman killed early Tuesday morning in a gruesome incident on the outbound Bishop Ford Expressway.

It began at 12:40 a.m.

Police chased the driver of a white Chevy Blazer, a 28-year-old man, onto the Tri-State Tollway.

He crashed the vehicle while exiting at 127th Street.

A person was taken into custody and transported to Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn for non life-threatening injuries.

He was treated and released into Blue Island police custody.

According to police, the person has been uncooperative.

No charges have been filed as of yet.

After a lengthy closure, all lanes of the Bishop Ford have re-opened.
