CLTV and WGN-TV are now looking for a dynamic Multi-Media Sales Representative! 

This key positions will be responsible for new business development for CLTV, WGN-TV, CLTV.com and WGNTV.com.  Sales Reps will be working on a team to sell local programs geared towards lucrative business categories such as Health, Home and Entertainment, as well as new TV and online advertisers.  Responsibilities include: cold calling, building new relationships through lead generation and internet research to secure new advertising accounts.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate strong communication skills, preparation, follow through, follow up, and relationship building skills.  Excellent negotiation and customer service skills are a must to close new business. Computer proficiency a must, Word, PowerPoint,  Excel, etc.  Must be courageous/fearless, aggressive, have high energy and be able to adapt well to an ever-changing, fast paced environment.

WGN-TV, CLTV, and Antenna TV – Chicago is looking for a detail-orientated individual to coordinate the on-air promotions for the channels. The position includes the strategic planning placement (logging) of on-air promotions. The opportunity also includes responsibilities to coordinate satellite feeds, managing and maintaining on-air promotional inventories and databases, investigating & resolving on-air promo discrepancies, and other production-related issues for the channels in Chicago as well as WGN America. This position works closely with department heads, promo producers, and a fellow coordinator to maximize station reach and branding.

WGN-TV has an immediate opening for a part-time Editor for its Creative Services department with an exceptional eye for detail. This person will be responsible for the Tag & Bag editing for WGN-TV/WGN America with additional responsibilities for producing on-air and off-channel promotions for various major projects, programs and news that will enhance image identity at WGN-TV, CLTV, WGN America, and Antenna TV. The qualified candidate must be an individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. The candidate must also possess a working knowledge of broadcast production and have an undergraduate degree in communications or equivalent, with a minimum of 3 years non-linear editing experience required, preferably on Final Cut. WGN is looking for a news producer for our expanding Morning News.  The successful candidate will have great news judgment and a demonstrated ability to craft a creative rundown.  We need someone who knows how to work as part of a team to craft a unique daily broadcast that is grounded in news, but is driven by segments that include live entertainment, interviews, lifestyle, and conversation.  Strong writing, organizational, and people skills are vital.
 
Top 20 market experience required.  Morning show or Midday show experience a plus.  Previous newscast producing experience mandatory.  Will be working in a non-linear environment, so familiarity and experience with digital technology is required.

Feature Reporter

Dept: News

Responsible for a daily feature profiling interesting people, places, and things to do around Chicago.  The position requires knowledge and creative flair as well as an ability to be on the air live each day collecting, writing and narrating information.  Includes interviews, covering news conferences, news events and enterprise assignments.  Must develop and organize facts for presentation on WGN News in a manner consistent with station goals and good journalistic practices; conduct live reports and interviews during newscasts; represent station in certain public functions, as assigned; and recommend and develop stories for coverage by station. 

College degree required. Television reporting, including live on-the-scene reporting, is necessary; anchoring experience a plus. Knowledge of Chicago area required.

Responsible for the preparation and presentation of the weather segments and associated computer weather graphics for broadcast on CLTV and WGN-TV.  Must be able to handle multiple segments each hour according to the CLTV format.  Must be able to provide live, breaking news coverage as weather events dictate.

Degree in meteorology or equivalent related military or work experience required.  AMS and/or NWA Seal of Approval preferred.  Solid knowledge of state of the art graphics systems essential.  Working knowledge of WSI Graphics system preferred.  Thorough working knowledge of all numerical forecast guidance material distributed from the National Weather Service and other global meteorological agencies.

Undergraduate (junior/senior standing) or graduate students attending an accredited college or university majoring in Broadcasting/Communications/Journalism or related field of study.  Students must be able to obtain college credit for the internship experience  (Internships are unpaid). Hours 8am-2pm 2/3 days per week.
