Police have released surveillance video in the search for two suspects in the attempted robbery of a jewelry store.

The video shows three suspects entering the C.D. Peacock in the Oakbrook Center Mall on Sunday.

One suspect is in critical condition after a police officer shot him after smashing a display case with a sledgehammer.

The two other suspects are on the loose.

Police say they found the getaway vehicle used by the two men when they made their escape.

Earlier Monday, police released a photo from the surveillance video and a photo of the getaway vehicle.

Oak Brook police released surveillance pictures in the search for two suspects in the  attempted robbery of a jewelry store in Oak Brook.

Police department officials say they hope to get clearer pictures that show more detail of the suspects who tried to rob the C.D. Peacock in the Oakbrook Center Mall on Sunday.

Two of the men are on the loose.

An attempted jewelry store holdup in Oak Brook left one suspect shot and two others on the run.

Three men walked into the C.D. Peacock jewelry store in the Oakbrook Center mall Sunday afternoon.

One had a sledgehammer, and he smashed a display case before a store security guard shot him.

The other men ran away as shoppers watched in horror; the two men stole a mall employee’s black Jeep Liberty and drove away.

No shoppers were injured, but several stores briefly locked their doors with shoppers inside until the incident was over.

A  suspect was shot during a robbery at Oakbrook Center Mall in Oak Brook Sunday.

According to Oak Brook Police, three men attempted to rob the jewelry store CD Peacock at the mall around 3:40 Sunday afternoon.

One of the men was armed with a sledgehammer.  He smashed the top of a glass display case.

The store’s armed security guard approach the suspects.  Two of the men fled store.  The third man, who was armed with the sledgehammer, was shot in  the abdomen.

The suspect was taken to the hospital where he underwent surgery.

The other two suspects fled the mall in a stolen black Jeep Liberty, police said. The vehicle belonged to a mall employee.

Police describe one as a heavy-set Black male in his late 20s to early 30s, 5’9, 230 lbs with a tattoo on the right side of his neck.  The second suspect is also a Black male in his late 20s to early 30s,  5’11 160 lbs with a heavy beard.

There were customers in the store at the time and the store was put on lockdown. No other injuries were reported.

The mall initiated an “armed gunman response” and stores encouraged customers to stay in the stores, but the mall was not on lockdown.

Police are investigating.
