The body of a missing Loyola student was pulled from Lake Michigan this morning.
Loyola’s website posted a notice saying, “We are very sad to inform you that it has been confirmed that the body of Christopher Evans has been found at Belmont Harbor in Chicago. “
25-year-old Evans was last seen early Sunday morning at Roscoe’s Bar on the north side. He was hanging out with friends including Antonio Delgado, who was with him until about an hour before he apparently ran off by himself towards the lake.
“He was fine,” said Delgado. “He was just enjoying hanging out with his friends, nothing excessive, I was with him for a good stretch of time”
But friends say at some point late in the night, he started acting unusual.
“He was acting erratic, paranoid, saying something bad was going to happen,” Delgado said.
On Monday, a missing persons report was filed when he didn’t show up for work.
This morning, friends and family got the news they had been fearing. Evans body was found floating in Belmont Harbor. The Chicago police marine unit was called in. Divers removed the body while investigators interviewed witnesses.
Evans was working on his master’s degree at Loyola university. Friends say he was an outstanding person who was sure to be very successful.
