An accused hit-and-run driver faces a bond hearing today.

Devonte Scott is charged with hitting a 14-year-old boy and his grandmother, Monday evening.

Ethel Bolden and her grandson were injured as they crossed the street near 65th and Paulina in the West Englewood neighborhood.

The driver didn’t stop to help them.

Scott faces a felony charge of failure to report an accident with injury.

He’s also charged with driving on a suspended license.

One person is in custody and police are looking for two others in a hit-and-run accident that injured a boy and his grandmother.

Neighbors identify the grandmother as Ethel Bolden, 64.  She was trying to cross the street with her 14-year-old grandson at around 6:15 p.m. Monday when they were hit by a minivan.  It happened just steps away from Bolden’s home at 65th and Paulina in the West Englewood neighborhood.

She is hospitalized at Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where her condition has been upgraded from critical to serious.

Bolden’s grandson sustained less serious injuries.  He remains at Comer Children’s Hospital in fair condition.

A vehicle description of a green minivan went out and police stopped that driver soon after at 63rd and Throop.  Police are still questioning the 21-year-old man, whom they are calling a person of interest.

Police are seeking two other people who were in the vehicle at the time of the hit-and-run.

So far no charges have been announced against the man in custody.  Police are urging anyone with information about the others who may be involved in the the hit-and-run to come forward.
