State police are investigating a shooting on the Dan Ryan Expressway near Canalport Ave after one man was killed and another injured.

Police say shots were fired on four people in a Nissan Sentra hitting two passengers in the head.

The driver, who was not hurt, headed to Rush University Medical Center where 22-year-old Lavonshay Cooper was pronounced dead.

Cooper was on parole.

The other man injured was taken to Stoger Hospital, where he has since been released.

Police don’t have a description of the suspects and they don’t know what kind of car they were in.

Chicago police are investigating a fatal shooting on the Dan Ryan that left one man dead and another critically injured.

Three people were driving northbound in a Nissan Sentra about 2:30 a.m. Sunday, when shots were fired, police said.

The driver of the car was able to pull up to Rush University Medical Center. Two of the people inside had been shot in the head.

The third adult was not injured in the shooting, police said.

The 22-year-old man killed was identified a sLavonshay Cooper, of the 4200 block of West Cortez Street,  according to the Cook County medical examiner’s office.

The other man injured was taken to John H. Stroger, Jr. Hospital of Cook County,  listed in critical but stable condition.

No arrests have been made.
