Burbank Police remain on the scene Thursday morning after two elderly people were found in their home along the 6400 block of West 83rd Place.

Police say the victims are an 80-year-old woman and a 78-year-old man, but their identities have not been released.

According to the Medical Examiner’s Office, this may be a case of murder suicide.

The bodies were discovered in a bedroom Wednesday morning by a relative who then called police.

Both victims had died of apparent gunshot wounds.

It’s not known if a weapon was found in the home along with the victims.

There was no sign of forced entry, and police say the shootings do not appear to be a random act of violence.

Neighbors say the deaths are tragic.

The couple had lived in the neighborhood for at least two decades.
