Blackhawks win Stanley Cup

After scoring two goals in 17 seconds in the third period of Game 6, the Chicago Blackhawks became the Stanley Cup champions of 2013.

The Blackhawks won on the road in Boston, beating the Bruins 3-2.

This is the franchise’s fifth title and second in the last four years.

Prior to their Stanley Cup win, the Hawks were seeded #1 in the West and defeated the Minnesota Wild in five games, then the Detroit Red Wings in seven games to meet the L.A. Kings in the conference finals.

The Blackhawks beat the Kings in double overtime in Game 5.

A video of the Chicago Blackhawks Stanley Cup victory has been posted on the City of Boston’s website for all to see.

It’s part of a wager between Mayor Rahm Emanuel and the Mayor of Boston.

People in Boston who use the internet to pay parking tickets will be the first to see the video.

The Mayor of Boston also agreed to plant a tree in a schoolyard of Emanuel’s choosing, send a sample of New England’s best food, and provide theater and concert tickets.

As part of the wager, Chicago will take over Boston’s website for a single day and the mayor says he needs help.

Mayor Emanuel’s office is asking Chicagoans to post photos and video about why they love the city.

Use the “Stanley Cup Video” hashtag (#StanleyCupVideo) on Instagram, Facebook or Twitter.

The city will choose the most creative entries to put on the Boston website.

Videos and pictures must be submitted by Friday, August 5.
