WGN-TV held the "WGN-TV 60th Anniversary Ball" benefitting Off the Street Club at Navy Pier. A good time was had by all and over $260,000 was raised on behalf of the Club.

WGN-TV celebrated the 5th anniversary of its WGN Morning News Drive-Thru Toy Drive on December 14. Thousands of toys were donated to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Chicago, who will celebrate a sunnier holiday as a result of the toy drive.
WGN-TV welcomed back the school year with its 6th annual WGN-TV Back-to-School Fair on Friday, August 3, 6-9am at WGN-TV Studios. This free fair aired live throughout WGN Morning News and featured fun, safety tips, health exams and everything parents need to get kids ready for school.

WGN-TV Children's Charities
WGN-TV Children's Charities Caring for Chicago's kids. From the Mercy Home for Boys and Girls to the Chicago Children's Choir, from Off The Street Club to Junior Achievement, non-profit agencies are working hard to help Chicago area kids. Through the support of WGN-TV Children's Charities, a fund of the McCormick Tribune Foundation, you can give agencies like these the help they need. Click here to donate.

Programming
People To People is a news/public affairs program hosted by Allison Payne and Steve Sanders.
The show covers everything from the day-to-day news events, both local and national, to smallest community events. It airs bi-weekly at 6:30am on Saturdays.
Adelante Chicago is a community show that airs bi-weekly focusing on the Hispanic community. It covers all sorts of topics including the census, education, politics, etc. Entertainment is also featured including musical guests, chefs, actors/actresses.

Merri Dee
Merri Dee, Director of Community Relations, celebrates more than 30 years at Chicago's WGN-TV. She serves as liaison between WGN-TV and community organizations, ensuring the station serves the needs of the diverse coverage areas and represents Tribune Company nationally.
