Hawks attack people in Summit
Birds of prey are on the attack in southwest suburban Summit. The sign says it all: warning, aggressive hawk in the area. Neighbors say a couple of hawks protecting their nest have been dive-bombing people. This isn’t exactly a wildlife preserve. It’s 56th St. not far from Midway Airport. The birds are swooping down on unsuspecting passers-by. The hawks are federally protected – so there’s nothing residents can do but take cover.
