    Governor Pat Quinn, Governor-Elect Bruce Rauner, Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Senator Mark Kirk were among the dignitaries attending the city of Chicago’s Veterans Day ceremony at Soldier Field this morning.     CTA completes full transition to Ventra cards

    The CTA has finally completed its transition to the new Ventra card fare system. Starting Tuesday, passengers can no longer use the old magnetic-strip cards. If you do not have a Ventra card you’ll have to use cash or a “contactless” credit or debit card. Riders can transfer existing balances on their old fare cards to “Ventra” until September 1st.
