  • Forest Park senior housing apartment fire, residents displaced

    A  2-alarm fire at a senior apartment complex displaced over 60 people last night. The fire started around 11p.m. on the 2nd floor of the Linden House apartment complex. One person was treated for minor injuries at the scene. Residents were bused to the Forest Park Community Center and the Red Cross is assisting residents with overnight shelter. The cause of the fire was not immediately known.

  • 4 dead, 1 critical in single-car crash on Northwest Side

    Four people were killed and one was critically injured after the car they were riding in crashed into a concrete wall. The crash happened around 3 a.m on a service road behind a shopping center near the 2600 block of N. Narragansett on the city’s Northwest Side.   • Elderly couple killed, police officer injured in Mokena house fire

    An elderly couple was killed, and a police officer was injured, in a house fire in Mokena. The blaze broke-out at the home at Magnolia and Catalpa around 3:30 a.m. Wednesday. The couple was in their 80s, but their identities haven’t been released. The man had health problems, and relied on oxygen tanks.   • Man accused of killing wife, daughter, family dog in Waukegan

    Bond has been set at $5 million for a man accused of killing his wife, daughter and the family dog in Waukegan. Anthony Marcus is charged with two counts of first degree murder. Police say a man called 9-1-1 from a home at about 6:15 p.m. Sunday and told police he killed his family and was going to kill himself.     A semi truck driver who was hit head on by another car rescued the car’s driver. The crash happened at the intersection of  129th and Ashland around 1 a.m Friday morning.     A semi truck crashed and caught fire on the inbound Kennedy at Division around 4:06 a.m. Inbound lanes at Division were closed for about an hour and twenty minutes this morning but reopened around 5:25 a.m. The driver of the semi was not injured. The truck contained mail.  

  • Wrong-way driver crashes into semi truck in overnight Kennedy crash

    A mini van going the wrong way on the Kennedy collided head-on with a semi truck this morning. The accident happened around 12:45 a.m when the mini van driver entered Interstate 90/94 at North Avenue and drove southbound in the northbound lanes Illinois State Police said.   • 3-year-old girl found dead inside Northwest Side home

    A person of interest is being questioned involving the death of a 3-year old girl. Chicago Police responded to a home in the 3300 block of N. Natchez Avenue around 8:30 p.m. Sunday night and discovered the girl dead inside police said. Police are releasing few details but are investigating the death as a homicide.   • Child injured in extra alarm fire at Lake Shore Drive high-rise

    A car on fire in an underground parking garage caused an extra alarm response this morning around 3 a.m. The fire happened in the 900 block of North Lake Shore Drive,  its not clear what started the car on fire. One child was transported with minor injuries and taken to Laurie Children’s Hospital in good condition. The fire was out by 3:30 a.m. The extra alarm fire was called because the basement lacks ventilation and extra man power was needed.

  • CTA Blue Line derailment at O’Hare injures 32

    Thirty-two people were injured after a CTA Blue Line train crashed and at O’Hare International Airport around 2:55 a.m Monday. The injuries do not appear to be life threatening. It’s not clear how fast the train was moving; but it jumped a bumper at the end of the line and moved up an escalator, according to Chicago Fire Department Spokesman Larry Langford.
