    Naperville police station becomes ‘safe haven’ for Craigslist sales

    NAPERVILLE, Ill. — People using Craigslist to buy and sell items can now use the Naperville Police Department as a meet up location. The Naperville Police Department announced Monday it will let buyers and sellers use their lobby as a “safe haven” to complete a transaction.     White Sox great Minnie Minoso passes away

    CHICAGO – Chicago White Sox legend Minnie Minoso has passed away at the age of 90. Minoso was the first black Cuban player in Major League Baseball and the first black player for the White Sox. He played 17 seasons in the majors, and was named an All-Star seven times, but he was denied entry into the Hall of Fame last year.   • Person struck, killed by freight train in Downers Grove

    DOWNERS GROVE, Ill. —  One person was struck and killed by a freight train overnight in Downers Grove. Authorities say the train hit a person on the tracks around 11:30 Saturday night. Metra trains were shut down in both directions for more than two hours, while authorities conducted their investigation on the scene. So far authorities have not released any details about the victim. Trains are running again, but Metra says some trains are still running behind schedule

    CHICAGO – A barricade situation on Chicago’s North Side ended with the arrest of 28-year-old Daniel Rice, who surrendered to police after a four-hour standoff on Saturday.     LAPORTE COUNTY, Ind. – A Wisconsin man is in custody after leading police on a wild chase from the western suburbs into Indiana and causing a shutdown of Interstate 94 in LaPorte County, Indiana.     Teen reels in gigantic Blue Marlin off Hawaii coast

    NEAR KAHALUU BEACH, Hawaii   (KTLA) –  A New York City teenager made the biggest catch of his life when he reeled in a 1,058-pound blue marlin off the coast of Hawaii. Kai Rizzuto’s catch came in about 300 pounds short of the International Game Fish Association’s 1982 world record for blue marlin, which was caught in nearby Kaaiwi Point, about 10 miles up the Kona coast.
