  • Chicago cop hit by a car

    A Chicago policeman is in stable condition after he was hit by a car over night on the city’s south side. The incident happened in the Woodlawn neighborhood in the 6500 block of S. Langley. The driver of the vehicle has been detained and the officer was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center.

    Baby black rhino makes his debut at the San Diego Zoo

    San Diego Zoo’s newest resident has made his debut to the world. He’s a male black rhino born just nine days ago. Black rhinos are a critically-endangered species and there are only 5,000 left in the wild. The male baby was born to a 15-ton black rhino born at the Safari Park at the zoo.     The United States, Iran and five other countries have agreed to extend negotiations over Iran’s nuclear program for four more months. The extension was expected but some American officials say that may not be enough time. Leaders hope the additional time will allow for negotiators to iron out some differences over whether Iran will be forced to dismantle parts of its nuclear infrastructure.     The Chicago Cubs filed a lawsuit Friday against a group of people who have allegedly been wearing a fake Cubs mascot outfit around Wrigley Field. The Cubs claim the mascot has charged fans for photos and has participated in other “unsavory actions” near the ballpark.     Prosecutors in Boston have released a new video of accused Boston Marathon bomber Ddzhokhar Tsarnaev taken the day after the bombing. The video reportedly shows Tsarnaev walking down a hallway with his friend, Azamat Tazhayakov, on the way to a gym. The video was presented yesterday as evidence in Tazhayakov’s trial. He’s accused of taking evidence from Tsarnaev’s dorm room and throwing it away shortly after the bombings. Tazhayakov’s lawyer says he never spoke with Tsarnaev about the marathon blasts. […]

  • One dead in crash involving a Greyhound bus in Indiana

    There is one confirmed fatality in an accident along Interstate 70 in eastern Indiana. The crash happened this morning on I-70, in Richmond, Indiana, which is east of Indianapolis in Wayne County, near the Ohio border. Witnesses say the bus collided with a car. All east bound lanes on I-70 are closed near the 149 mile marker and westbound lanes are restricted. Details on the destination or origination of the Greyhound bus have not been released.
