It happened just after 4 a.m. today at the Phone Zone, at 3206 West Washington Boulevard in East Garfield Park.     ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. —  One man is dead and two women are injured in an overnight house fire in Arlington Heights. Arlington Heights Fire Chief Ken Koeppen says a woman inside the house called 911 at about 2 a.m. saying her husband and her daughter were trapped inside her burning house in the 1600 block of West Waverly Court.     Archdiocese removes suburban priest for ‘inappropriate relationship’

    DES PLAINES, Ill. – A high-profile priest in the Chicago Archdiocese has been removed from ministry for what’s being described as an “inappropriate relationship” with an adult man. Archbishop Blase Cupich announced Father Marco Mercado would no longer serve as rector of the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Des Plaines. He’s also been ordered to live away from the Shrine effective immediately. The Shrine is home to an all night vigil that draws thousands of faithful every December.

    FORECAST:   A Lakeshore Flooding Advisory is in place until 3pm today.   Wind gusts 25-35 mph possible along the lakefront.  Waves could top 12 feet.   Temperatures will top out in the mid-50s, with mostly cloudly skies and a chance of scattered sprinkles until the evening.

    Murders keep adding up for deadliest September in Chicago since 2002

    CHICAGO — The homicide toll in Chicago continues to climb at a quick pace this month, making it the city’s deadliest September since 2002.     Death investigation underway at Barrington home

    BARRINGTON, Ill – Police in Barrington say they are investigating a death inside a home in that Northwest suburb. Officers were called to a home in the 500 block of North Avenue just after 4 p.m. Tuesday. The Barrington Police Department along with the Cook County Major Case Assistance Team (MCAT) are currently investigating the case.  They plan to release more details today.
