    Two dead from Legionnaire’s Disease at Illinois veterans’ home

    QUINCY, Ill. – Two people have  died in a outbreak of Legionnaires’ Disease at a veterans’ home in Illinois. The victims were residents at the home in Quincy. The health department says they were among 23 people diagnosed with Legionnaires’ earlier this week. It’s a severe form of pneumonia that is usually contracted by inhaling the legionella bacteria through water droplets.     CHICAGO –  Three people were hospitalized after being rescued from a two-alarm fire at an apartment building on the city’s Far North Side. The fire began just before 8 a.m. at 1055 N. Catalpa Avenue in the Edgewater Beach neighborhood.     CTA Green Line Service resumes after minor derailment on the South Side

    CHICAGO –  Service on the CTA Green Line has resumed after a minor derailment early Sunday morning. Train service was temporarily halted at about 6 a.m. between Garfield Boulevard and 63rd/Ashland stops. Shuttle buses were provided to riders until service resumed shortly before 9 a.m. A CTA spokesperson says no passengers were on board the train that derailed.
