Woman sexually assaulted in Uptown, police say

CHICAGO -- On Wednesday, Chicago police put out a community alert warning residents after a 30-year-old woman was sexually assaulted when she was walking into her building's courtyard.

Police said the woman was walking in the front courtyard of a building on Magnolia and Sunnyside avenues around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday morning when she was attacked, thrown to the ground and sexually assaulted.

The search is now on for the man who assaulted her. The suspect is described as a black male, 25 to 35 years old, 5 feet 7 to 5 feet 11, about 150 to 190 pounds with short black hair, dark skin with possible facial hair. He was last seen wearing black clothing.

Anyone with information is asked to call police.
