Woman fatally stabbed, thrown from car in Chicago Lawn

CHICAGO — A 28-year-old woman was fatally stabbed in her chest and thrown from a car in Chicago Lawn late Wednesday, police said.

The incident happened in the 6000 block of South Sacramento Avenue about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday. Witnesses saw a man exit the car and run away before police arrived. The woman was pronounced dead at Mt. Sinai Hospital.

On Thursday, the Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the woman as Carolina Gonzalez, 28, of the 5600 block of South Sacramento Avenue.

Police are investigating.
