BERWYN, Ill. — A man is in custody after a police chase ended in a crash near the Indiana state line during the busy Friday afternoon rush.
Berwyn police department chased a stolen 2016 Dodge Charger nearly 45 minutes to Lansing. The car crashed near the Torrence exit on I-80.
A woman who lives in the 2200 block of East Ave in Berwyn told police she was parking in her garage when she was approached by a man with a knife. He took off in her car and police chased him.
Police say he stuck a handgun out of his window and pointed it at them on the highway.
That’s when a police car rammed the stolen car and ended the chase.
Police shut down the expressway as they conducted their investigation.
