CHICAGO, March 21, 2018 – On the biggest news night of 2018, Chicago turned to WGN-TV. WGN-TV was #1 all night long from 6-11pm. With crews covering the city and suburbs, WGN-TV had live wall-to-wall, local election coverage beginning at 4pm.
· WGN-TV’s primetime election special was #1 from 7-9pm in the demo delivering a 2.4 rating.
· WGN’s election coverage was #1 (2.7 A25-54 rating) for the entire 7-10PM time period, beating out all other stations.
· WGN-TV delivered the #1 10-10:30pm news audience with a 2.7 A25-54 rating. Finished ahead of WLS’ 10PM by +13%, ahead of WMAQ’s 10PM by +93%, and ahead of WBBM’s 10PM by +440%. At 9pm, WGN outperformed WFLD by +136%.
WGN News Election Special: Decision 2018 started at 7pm with anchors Micah Materre and Ben Bradley, joined by WGN political reporter Tahman Bradley and political analyst, host of “Politics Tonight” on CLTV, Paul Lisnek. On the desk with viewpoint analysis was WVON’s Cliff Kelly, and former Illinois GOP Chairman Pat Brady. WGN had reporters live all over the city and suburbs covering all of the local primaries.
