CHICAGO — Chilly weather couldn't keep thousands of people from flocking to Downtown streets Saturday as Chicago kicked off its annual St. Patrick's Day Parade.
Security was tight with Chicago police officers lined up roughly every 20 feet, WGN's Meghan Dwyer reported. There were no major security issues — just a lot of fun.
Kevin Magnuson with the Special Olympics described the day as "controlled chaos and very safe. Police are everywhere, and everyone has smiles on their faces.”
