Police investigating Logan Square incident as self-inflicted gunshot wound

CHICAGO — What was once believed to be a shooting in the city’s Logan Square neighborhood is now being investigated as a possible self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Police initially reported that a man was shot while taking out his trash in an alley at about 2 a.m. Tuesday in the 1700 block of North Talman. He was hospitalized in serious condition.

Police did not provide any further information.
