1 killed, 2 wounded in Uptown Starbucks shooting

CHICAGO -- The person who opened-fire inside a busy Starbucks in the city's Uptown neighborhood, killing one person and wounding two others, is still on-the-run.

It happened at the coffee chain located near Lawrence and Broadway on Thursday night.

The deceased victim is 28 year-old Sauvignon Watkins, of the Chatham neighborhood.

A 12 year-old boy is in a hospital in good condition, while a 24 year-old man is listed in serious condition.

Police say Watkins and the 24 year-old man knew each other. They say the boy does not have any connection to the incident.

Police say the shooting appears to have stemmed from a drug deal.

The gunman wore a ski mask at the time of the shooting.

No one is in custody.

Starbucks released the following statement:

We were saddened to learn of the passing of a young man and the injury of two others as a result of gun violence at our store on North Broadway in Chicago.
The store will be closed tomorrow morning as we focus on our local store partners, ensuring they have the support they need. We will continue to support law enforcement in their investigation.
