Doctors advise against fruit juice for young kids

Pediatricians say kids should avoid drinking fruit juice until they’re at least a year old. Even then, they should drink it sparingly.

Doctors say they’d prefer if the kids ate whole fruits instead. Whole fruit contains fiber, which slows the absorption of sugar by the body.

Pediatricians also say there’s a link between fruit juice and teeth decay.
