White Sox home opener cancelled due to weather

CHICAGO -- The White Sox were hoping to play their home opener against the Detroit Tigers Monday afternoon, but the weather did not cooperate and the game has been postponed. It will be made up Tuesday at 1:10 p.m.

The team said all tickets for Monday's cancelled game, used or unused, are good for admission at Guaranteed Rate Field for Tuesday's game. Parking lots will open at 10:00 a.m., and parking will be free for all fans. Fans can also trade in their tickets from Monday's game for tickets to a few select games later in the season.

The next game will be Rick Renteria's first game as White Sox manager.

The Sox won eight of their first 10 games last year, including the opener, but struggled after that to finish the season six games under 500.
