CHICAGO -- Lawmakers and law enforcement officials met on Chicago's West Side Monday to talk about the growing opioid epidemic affecting Illinois and the rest of the nation.

Officials say many of those using opioids and overdosing are in their teens and 20's.

They say it's important to start educating kids in middle school and high school so they understand the dangers of opioids and stay away from them.
