CHICAGO -- What a difference a year makes! It was just one year ago Saturday that the city basked in unseasonably mild 57 degree air. It couldn’t be more different this year.
A winter storm watch goes into effect beginning at 6 p.m. Saturday and will likely be upgraded to a winter storm warning.
Expect a long period of snow beginning late Saturday afternoon and continuing much of Sunday, before tapering off late Sunday night.
We’ve averaged across a suite of 44 computer models and much of the metro area could see 8-12” with some isolated 14” totals near the Illinois/Wisconsin border not out of the question.
