Chuck E. Cheese leaving Oak Lawn after multiple violent incidents

OAK LAWN, Ill. -- Chuck E. Cheese is leaving Oak Lawn.

The local village board had planned a special meeting Wednesday night to discuss revoking its license.

But the meeting was postponed after the restaurant announced it's moving out.

The location has been the scene of hundreds of fights and arguments.

Oak Lawn police say they've responded to more than 300 calls and made more than two dozen arrests at the restaurant since 2011, according to village data.

The most recent incident happened last weekend.

A driver was shot Saturday night after leaving the restaurant.

No word yet on when the restaurant will officially close, but the mayor of Oak Lawn told WGN-TV that the company has promised to transfer the restaurant's 100 or so jobs to a new location outside the village.
