Abandoned puppy grows up to become therapy dog

ROCKFORD, Ill. -- A Chihuahua puppy found abandoned in a garbage can is now a therapy dog.

Ivy and her siblings were found in a dumpster in Rockford two years ago.

They were taken to a shelter were a family adopted Ivy.

The family has two other Chihuahuas and trains them to be therapy dogs.

Ivy is now a regular visitor at Saint Anthony Medical Center in Rockford where she spends time with patients.
