Cards Against Humanity raises money to dig giant Holiday Hole

CHICAGO — Yes, you read that headline correctly. The Chicago-based card game company Cards Against Humanity is raising money in an effort to dig a giant hole in the ground.

The digging started on Black Friday. The more money raised, the deeper the Holiday Hole will be dug, according to company’s website holidayhole.com.

It’s unclear if the Holiday Hole is located in the Chicago area. On the Frequently Asked Questions section of the website, the company says the Holiday Hole is located in “America. And in our hearts.”

Just before 2 p.m. on Saturday, more than $81,000 had been raised on the site. The company hasn’t stated its plans for the money, but according to DNAInfo Chicago, it has a history of giving back.

“What if you dig so deep you hit hot magma? At least then we’d feel something,” the website’s FAQ section states.
