Protesters plan to shut down Mag Mile on Black Friday — again
CHICAGO — For a second straight year, protesters will attempt to disrupt Black Friday shopping along Chicago’s Magnificent Mile.
Last year, hundreds of demonstrators marched on North Michigan Avenue last year to protest what they called unjustified police shootings.
That forced many businesses to close earlier on the busiest shopping day of the year.
This year, protesters say they will be back on the Mag Mile, to draw attention to gun violence, racism and police brutality.
The protest is expected to begin at 10 a.m. Friday at the old Water Tower.
