LAKE FOREST – The up-and-down season of the quarterback who has had an up-and-down tenure as the signal caller of the Bears may be coming to an end.

According to a Monday afternoon report by the Chicago Tribune , Bears quarterback Jay Cutler injured his shoulder in the loss to the Giants on Sunday afternoon at Met Life Stadium and may keep him out the rest of the season.

Reporter Brad Biggs tweeted the story around 3:30 PM this afternoon.

Cutler never came out of the game due to injury but took a number of hard hits throughout the game. The quarterback was also sacked four times in the second half of the 22-16 loss to the Giants.

Injuries are nothing new to Cutler in a rough 2016 where an injured thumb on his throwing hand kept him out of five games this season. He’s completed 59 percent of his passes in the other five games for 1,059 yards and four touchdowns compared to five interceptions.
