6 Chicago firefighters sick after responding to earlier fire

CHICAGO -- Six Chicago firefighters were transported to hospitals overnight when they reported feeling sick after returning from a fire call.

The firefighters responded to this fire in the 1400 block of West Huron around 2 a.m. Monday.

Then after returning to their station at Madison and Leavitt around 3:30 a.m., they started feeling sick.

Three firefighters went to Stroger Hospital, one went to Rush Hospital and one went to Presence Saints Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center and are listed in fair condition.

Fire officials are investigating what they may have been exposed to at that fire scene.
