PARK FOREST, Ill. -- A suburban man has been charged with murdering his roommate and family members say it may have been a revenge killing over a Facebook post.
Both the victim, 39-year-old Jason McCullough and the accused killer, 34-year-old Josiah Clark lived in a home on Arcadia Street in Park Forest. They’d been best friends and roommates for years but family members say the victim had recently learned of some disturbing allegations facing his old friend.
McCullough took those allegations to police. But he also did something investigators believe may have directly led to his death. McCullough went on Facebook and posted the allegations. He called Clark a brother but said he wanted to warn the world about him.
A short time later, police say, Clark went to the house and shot and killed his friend of 27 years.
Clark was picked up this week in the Twin Cities area. He was charged with First Degree Murder. Three other Chicagoland residents are charged with helping him try to evade justice.
Police say Clark should be back in Illinois to face that murder charge and likely additional charges by the beginning of next month.
