Pedestrian struck, killed by Metra train in Mount Prospect

MOUNT PROSPECT, Ill. -- Metra Union Pacific Northwest trains are halted in Mount Prospect after a pedestrian was fatally struck.

It happened near Northwest Highway and Edwards Street at about 6:45 a.m. Thursday. The Cook County Medical Examiner has been notified.

The victim has not yet been identified.
