O’Hare workers vote to strike ahead of busy holiday travel week

CHICAGO — Hundreds of O'Hare International Airport workers have voted to go on strike ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday.

Service Employees International Union Local 1 officials said Thursday that about 500 workers arguing for a $15 hourly wage have committed to strike.

Union officials say the strike would slow, but not shut down one of the nation's busiest airports.

Thanksgiving week is traditionally a very busy week for air travel.
