Man shot and killed at a South Austin gas station

CHICAGO – Chicago Police are looking for the person who shot and killed a man at a West Side gas station early this morning.

The victim, a man in his 20’s, was found shot several times at a Mobil gas station near Madison and Cicero in the South Austin neighborhood.

Police say the shooting happened at 1:59 a.m.

Witnesses tell the Chicago Tribune that they heard arguing in the parking lot and saw a group of men chase the victim and then someone fired four to five shots.

The victim was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital with gunshot wounds to the abdomen and chest. He was later pronounced dead.

No one is in custody.
