Kyle Long is carted off the field after a right ankle injury against the Buccaneers at Raymond James Stadium on November 13th.

TAMPA – What began as an afternoon of optimism for the Bears’ offensive line has turned into the opposite on Sunday afternoon.

Early in the second quarter offensive guard Kyle Long injured his leg against the Buccaneers at Raymond James Stadium with a right ankle injury. He was carted off the field with an aircast on his right leg and will not return.

It was sustained during a Jay Cutler shuffle pass to Paul Lasike. After bobbling the pass initially, Lasike corralled it falling forward and in the process rolled up on Long’s ankle. The guard was down on the ground being looked at by athletic trainers for a few minutes before a cart was brought out onto the field to take Long back to the locker room.

While in the cart, the entire Bears’ offense along with a few Buccanneers players came up to embrace Long. The offensive lineman tried to fire up his teammates as he came off the field, banging on the cart and yelling towards the Bears’ sidelines.
