SKOKIE, Ill. -- Wednesday marks the 78th anniversary of "The Night of Broken Glass."
On that night, more than 30,000 Jewish people in Germany were rounded up and shipped off to concentration camps.
Hundreds of people were at the Illinois Holocaust Museum and Education Center to hear the story of a woman who was 19 that night in 1938.
Marianne Schwab recounted how men stormed into her home and ransacked it, forcing her family to run for their lives.
Schwab shared how she survived, and others stressed the importance of remembering history.
