Cedar Point to rename ride for Cubs after Great America wins World Series bet

The World Series didn’t just pit two Major League Baseball teams against each other — two popular amusement parks also got in on the rivalry.

In a video posted online on Tuesday, Six Flags Great America in Gurnee, challenged Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio, to a friendly wager.

Great America said that if the Cubs win the World Series, then Cedar Point must make a video of the staff performing “Go, Cubs, Go.” If the Cubs lost then the Great America staff would have to perform to the song “Cleveland Rocks.”

Cedar Point accepted the wager but decided to up the ante a little bit by adding on to the bet. Cedar Point stated that the losing team must rename one of their rides for their entire opening weekend in 2017, and the winning park will be able to choose the park’s ride and temporally new name.

Since the Cubs won the 2016 World Series, Great America chose the popular ride Top Thrill Dragster to be renamed the “Top Thrill Cubster.”

Cedar Point stayed true to their word and also created a video of their staff performing to “Go, Cubs, Go.” You can watch the video below.
