2 fatal shootings in Goose Island just hours apart

CHICAGO — Two fatal shootings happened within 400 feet of each other, and roughly five hours apart in the city’s Goose Island neighborhood.

A 35 year-old man was found with a gunshot wound to the head shortly after midnight at Augusta and Willard.

The victim was sitting in the driver’s seat of a parked car.

Earlier, around 7 p.m. on Wednesday, a man was discovered dead at Augusta and Elston.

Police searched a silver Toyota parked in a tow-away zone underneath a viaduct at Racine and Augusta.

The driver’s door was left open.
