LAKE FOREST, Ill. – Pernell McPhee is back.

McPhee participated in his first practice since January last Friday, albeit without pads, and did again twice more this week.

But, it wasn’t until today that he officially returned to the active roster.

The Bears still had 15 days to make a decision on whether or not to remove McPhee from the physically unable to perform list or else lose him for the entire 2016 season.

However, the early decision could mean McPhee sees some action in tonight’s game against the Packers.

McPhee recorded a career-high 64 tackles to go along with one interception last year, in his first season as a Bear.

He also ranked third on the Bears in sacks with six.
