LAPD detective investigating Derrick Rose rape case found dead

LOS ANGELES -- A Los Angeles Police Department detective who was investigating rape allegations against former Chicago Bull Derrick Rose died of an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Police in the city of Whittier said Wednesday that there are no signs of foul play in the death of Nadine Hernandez.

The 44-year-old was found Tuesday with a gunshot wound and she died at a hospital. A handgun was recovered at the scene.
